Marie-Claude Arnott
Welcome to my Profile Page!
I grew up in France, close to cosmopolitan Geneva, Switzerland, which shaped my view of the world, and my life. With family on two continents and four cities I come and go from Vancouver, Canada where I live with my husband.
I attended foreign language schools in England, Germany and Spain. I have always liked writing and had created an epic magazine at my local youth club when I was 14. Then, I took a long--and epic--detour before coming back to writing.
My background: Executive assistant and advertising writer in Switzerland, a stint as a radio announcer and newscaster in France, a B.A. in International Studies (emphasis International Organizations and Law), and finally, learning Freelance and Feature Writing with the London School of Journalism.
I had articles published in the travel section of The Province newspaper, online, and as website copywriting. I also do translations French/English; my last project: a French pilot for television, and synopses.
At Suite101, I write about the film/TV industry (with a special interest in women in the media), fashion, food, and occasionally on other topics that sparked my interest.
You can find my travel articles at BucketTripper .
I am working on a collection of short stories about women.
I am a member of the Federation of BC Writer.
Thank you for your interest!
